My Work Experience
For anyone visiting Kibeho, this is the place to stay - 10 minutes walk from the bus station and right opposite the new church and apparition site.
Really great value; fab communications from Sister Emilienne - a very jolly lady - and a happy atmosphere prevails (benebikirapacis@gmail.com - email address not shown on shrine website);
Nice breakfast is included and evening meals are also available and fine too; Really lovely young and local staff fronted by Aline (apologies if mis-spelt) on reception;
Ignore the negative review from a few years ago - makes no sense at all.
Water was from a tank in each bathroom as was dry season so - if not too strong - ask for help when first using.
Spent a few days with my congregation here. I must say the staff was wonderful ,warm and welcoming. Then there were the NUNS. I was very disappointed and angry with you Sister incharge of the bills. You wasted no chance in milking us for more money than the amount due. Absolutely refused to provide accounting info for us to wire the money directly and instead came up with her own exchange rates and made further adjustments to our total bill. She even had the audacity to order the gates to be shut! accused us of shorting her...she further claimed we slipped in Rwandan francs because our notes had the same colour? And threatened to call the police. Lady with the glasses SHAME ON YOU and I hope that extra cash bought a pretty spot in heaven. DESPICABLE!!!!
Honestly, I had to give myself a cooling period before writing this review.
Advice to travellers: ensure you exchange all your cash before heading into remote parts of Rwanda.
